Jungian & Psychodynamic Psychotherapy in Camden
Camden has never suited people who are content with surface answers. It draws those who want to make something of themselves, through music, art, writing, trade, or simply by being different in public. Jungian psychotherapy suits that temperament. If something feels unresolved, challenging, or unsettling, or you sense there is more to understand about yourself than you have yet reached, this may be the right place to start.
Few places hold as many layers as Camden. Market traders, musicians, designers, academics, long-standing residents and newcomers share the same streets, and identity is worn openly and argued over constantly. Jung’s work asks a similar question: who are you beneath the roles you present, and what have you left out of the picture?
That includes people who are struggling. Some who come here are in real pain, worn thin, or recovering from breakdown or a difficult period in life. The depth of this work is not a barrier to that. Often it is exactly what is needed.
The work draws on a Jungian and psychodynamic blend: Contemporary Jungian, Relational Psychoanalytic, Object Relations, and neuroscience-aware. It has a particular texture; mythic, emotional, relational, and honest. The psyche is treated as something worth taking seriously, not just symptoms to be managed, but a life to be understood.
People come from all over London; from here in Camden, Hampstead, Highgate, Islington, King’s Cross, Greenwich, Southwark, Richmond, and further across afield. There is real value in a secure place set apart from the noise, where deep truths can be said in confidence and you can speak in a freed frame of mind.
If you stay after a couple of exploratory sessions, most people find things begin to settle. More bearable, at first. Then, over time, something shifts. Your sense of your own story starts to change and grow, and you begin to see how you move through the world, how you relate to others, and how many different parts there are to your consciousness.
I see patients in at my studio here in Camden, and online where circumstances suit it. I work one-to-one with adults of all backgrounds, races, nationalities, sexualities and gender identifications.
